Community rules and reporting

What is not allowed

Illegal content, child sexual abuse or exploitation, nonconsensual intimate images and deepfakes, threats, harassment, hateful abuse, scams, spam, copyright infringement, privacy violations, and attacks on the service are prohibited. Do not publish a person’s image, private plans, or location without authority. Do not use invitations for unsolicited advertising.

Report content or request review

Use Report or contact; an account is not required. Choose a report type, identify the exact Votum page and material, explain the problem and why you believe it is unlawful or violates these rules, and give enough context to assess it. General illegal-content notices ask for a name and contact email. The child sexual abuse or exploitation category allows both to be omitted. Do not upload an illegal image or an identity document. For an appeal, include the decision reference and why you disagree.

Report details are stored for authorized reviewers, not publicly listed or directly disclosed to the reported author. Necessary information may be shared to investigate, respond, or comply with law. A successful submission records a request; it does not automatically remove content or confirm that a reviewer has acted. The form may be unavailable or temporarily limited; use the published contact address for urgent follow-up when available.

Intimate images and child safety

For a nonconsensual intimate image, use the urgent category. The form asks for the exact image location, whether you are the depicted person or their authorized representative, contact information, an electronic signature, and your good-faith statement that publication was nonconsensual. Include relevant supporting details and any known duplicate locations without attaching the image. A witness without authority may still report the concern using illegal content or child safety.

For content involving sexual abuse or exploitation of a child, use the child-safety category and give the location without reproducing the material. Name and email are optional, and the stored report is not linked to your signed-in account. Without contact information, reviewers cannot send you updates. Technical hosting/security records may still be processed. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Votum is not an emergency service.

The intake form and private request fields are implemented. Staffed urgent review, trained child-safety handling, legally required removal deadlines, and handling of known identical copies still require operational setup and verification before public release. Saving a request does not establish that those obligations have been fulfilled.

Hide an author’s public posts

While signed in, you can hide an author from a public memory or trip post and manage that choice in Hidden public authors under your account. This hides that author’s public posts from your signed-in view.

Hiding an author does not remove their content for everyone, remove anyone from a shared list, or stop that person viewing your public posts. Public content remains available while signed out. Hiding does not resolve shared-list harassment or replace a safety report. Broader protections against abusive users still require review before the iOS release.

Moderation and appeals

Appropriate actions can include removing content, restricting features, or suspending an account. Decisions should consider context and seriousness, provide reasons and review options where permitted, and preserve necessary evidence securely. Urgent action may be necessary for safety or legal duties.

Report and appeal intake and narrow public-author hiding are available in the implementation. A staffed moderation and appeals process, effective objectionable-content screening, and verified removal operations remain launch requirements. Do not submit knowingly false or abusive reports; an unsuccessful report is not itself abuse.

Copyright concerns

Use the copyright category or contact lgletch2@msn.com. Identify the protected work and the exact allegedly infringing material, your contact information and signature, your good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, and your statement of accuracy and authority under penalty of perjury where required.

A registered designated agent, complete counter-notice process, and repeat-infringer policy must be established before the operator relies on US DMCA safe-harbor protection. This general reporting form does not itself establish that protection.
